Hey! So Glad You're Here.
I'm an addict, plain and simple; I am an enthusiastic devotee to books, they encompass every aspect of my life. If you were to walk into my house, you would find books strewn about, and on every surface. As my husband fondly says, "you've got issues"
As Anne Lamott has stated, "For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet or excite you. Books help us understand who we are and how we are to behave. They show us what community and friendship mean; They show us how to live and die."
But reading books is just not enough, I want to talk about them, discuss and debate there merits and distractions. Podcast have scratched that itch a bit, bookstagram has scratched the other itch. But I need more. I don't know if anyone will actually ever read this blog, but I am willing to put it out into the universe, and see what happens.
Now is the part where I tell you a bit about me...
Here are the stats:
DOB: 4/10/1968

Married: To Christian since 1992, that's 30 years folks!

My Rambling Autobiography:
I'm 53 years old, born in San Francisco in 1968, and was given up for adoption. I was raised in the suburbs of Clayton, California. I was an average student, and loved English class. Attended Chico State to become an elementary school teacher. Shit happened and I took another path. Married Christian Andrew Lee Westbrook on December 31st 1992. My mother died two months later on St. Patricks Day. I have a hard time celebrating that day, even 29 years later. We had three boys, and those years are a blessing and a blur; time with kids is extraordinarily slippery. In 2021 we decided that it was time for a BIG change. Every weekend for six months we spent getting the house ready. Sold our house in three days. On December 17th 2022 we embarked on an epic road trip across country to Tennessee, where we now reside. In January of 2022 I found my birth family. I have three siblings that I never knew I had. LIFE CHANGING. Boys are now in college; Grant is attending University of Tennessee, Luke is a Freshman at Syracuse, and Jack, our oldest will be moving to Dallas, and beginning his career in Accounting. The rest of the story is being written...
